CIAPS is an innovative information management and certification service that is specifically designed for construction and related industries and the supply chains therein. It has been developed to enable construction supply chains to respond to the challenges being placed upon them by clients.
The information management system:
- provides a consistent approach to company information collation and storage;
- provides an elegant unified mechanism to prepare and submit PAS 91 complant PQQs;
- has the capability of providing performance analyses of participating supply chain members in the achievement of prescribed performance values or standards, the application of best practice in sustainability, H&S and environmental management and performance improvement through training and benchmarking.
The certification system:
- vets companies using systems based on recognised best certification practice;
- provides the option of truly independent objective inspection using UKAS-accredited certification bodies; and
- is managed using ‘state of the art’ internet technologies.

- it is highly flexible and accommodates all levels including managing contractors, SME companies, micro businesses, and specialists operating in any construction related discipline;
- it contains elegant and secure supply chain management tools which, by using highly secure IT technology, enables clients or prime contractors alike to manage key information about their supply chain partners;
- it can be used by procuring clients/managing contractors to request, collate and score ‘routine’ PQQ information;
- it can be used by prime contractors and their supply chains to provide real-time, and in many cases independently verified, information that can be used to respond to specific invitations to tender; and
- it can automatically import and export menber company information directly into company intranets or in-house subcontractor databases.
